After a Maine Maritime Academy education, 12 years running tugs on the East coast, and a lifetime of working in and around boatyards & the working waterfront, I returned home to fill a large void in the marine service segment around the Penobscot Bay region. With that idea, Downeast Yacht Services was born - a different sort of boatyard - with personal service, meticulous attention to detail and a fierce determination to solve any problem, we strive to provide the highest quality service found anywhere. This business has been built solely on hard work and doing the right thing - no financial backers, gifts from wealthy relatives or financial windfalls - just skill, determination, long hours and a supportive family!

• Local and New England regional over the road boat transport on our air ride hydraulic trailer.
• Crane barge services including mooring sales and installation, floating dock seasonal services and maintenance, as well as island logistics including freight and equipment transport.
• Small to medium scale marine and land-based freight and logistics handling, trucking, and storage based out of our two Penobscot, Maine yards. Single unit size of up to 40’ long, 12’ wide and 9 tons handled with our full complement of trucks, trailers, marine, and shoreside equipment.
• 15,000 square feet of indoor boat storage and 6 acres of outdoor boat storage for power and sail vessels at three locations in Penobscot, ME.
• Sailboat masts up to 60’ long stepped, unstepped, handled and stored.
• Full mechanical services including gas, diesel, outboard repairs and service including the latest computer diagnostics of all brands.
• Marine electrical system design, installation and repairs.
• Off season major projects including full repowers, systems refits and installation, structural and cosmetic work, etc.
• In-water service calls in Penobscot, Castine, Brooksville and the surrounding waterfront. We keep a high-speed RIB ready to go at a slip in Penobscot from May 1st through November 1st.
• Light and heavy trailer repairs and maintenance.
• Welding and fabrication in mild steel, stainless and aluminum.
• Fiberglass repair and paint.
• Structural steel repair and modifications of trailers and marine equipment.
• Boat cleaning and detailing.
• Turn key seasonal yacht service and management packages.
